Veinte Cohol with Purple Coloration
I have a Veinte Cohol in one of my patches with a purple tint where the petioles meet the pstem. This coloration is unusual to me since I've never experienced this with any of my VCs in years past. No other VC in the same patch currently has this coloration. I wanted to see if any of you have experienced this with any of your VCs so I can hopefully learn what it means.
I've read online that it could be a possible phosphorus deficiency, but I'm 100% sure I can exclude this as a possibility.

Re: Veinte Cohol with Purple Coloration
Nick,
Have been mentioned to me this is probably as the VC mature over the years!.....Some VC's will develop the nice purple tint color, some don't......It's normal!.....Nothing to worry about it!.....Some of my VC's also, developed the same purple tint on the same place!....Trust me, it gets plenty of micro-nutrients!.....

Re: Veinte Cohol with Purple Coloration
I love the taste of the VC naner. Sent a corm to Dalmatian soap cause he has a short growing season.
And that coloration of the pstem is unique. None of the many other varieties I have grown show it. Last edited by bananimal : 08-01-2018 at 06:21 PM. |

Re: Veinte Cohol with Purple Coloration
Same here as Musa expert Hector says this is totally normal. Some do it some don’t. Looks amazing! Not a lot longer and that one will flower! Great job Nick!
