Watching a banana grow.
A new leaf is formed on Musa basjoo. It starts with a little threadlike squiggle.(arrow) Picture taken on July 1, 2007.
July 2. July 3. July 4. July 5. July 6. July 7. July 8. July 9. July 9. Another little squiggle appears, starting the process over again. A 50 inch (1.3m.) leaf in 8 days! |
