What to do with a banana leaf
I have a 6 foot long, 20 inch wide (at it's widest) banana leaf. Beside the obvious "make compost" what should I do with it?
I was thinking about making tamales...anyone know how to make tamales with banana leaves? I had some on Cozumel and they were amazing. Any other ideas? My wife says I should fan her with it while feeding her grapes. |

Re: What to do with a banana leaf
I googled borachos for a recipe, and all I got was a bunch of links to Spanish speaking drunk people! Oh, and one recipe for drunken beans! Frijoles boracho.

Re: What to do with a banana leaf
I guess that means I"m probably going to wind up wearing a toga and catering to her highness. Now to go buy some grapes....

Re: What to do with a banana leaf
I think the toga and grapes idea sounds great anyway. Mind if I show this thread to MY husband????

Re: What to do with a banana leaf
Don't know if this would be similar to what you remember but if you combine banana leaf with tamales and google that.....you come up with recipes
