Default What to do with basjoo flowers

Last saturday when I cutted of some leaves of my basjoo I saw that one of the stems has produced a flower bud. This is then my fourth flower within two years.

I am sure that this flower will not survive the upcoming frosts. I was wondering what to do with the bud when the frosts comes. One of the things I can do is eat the male bud. But I also heard somewhere that it is possible to propagate the banana with means of the male bud. Has anyone experience with this?

Does anyone have more ideas about what to do with this bud?

Already thanks for your reactions.
