What happened to Tim Chapman and Gingerwood Nursery??
I hope somebody knows, because I sure don't . Whatever you do, do not place an order there!! I ordered some seeds from him in January, and never got them. He hasn't responded to any of my emails, and the website hasn't been updated in a while. I could get all mad about it, but I'm past that point now. I'd just like to know if the guy is alive at this point! Anyone have a clue??

Re: What happened to Tim Chapman and Gingerwood Nursery??
I have been wondering the same thing. He doesn't list plants for sale anymore. Did H. Katrina whipe his place out? I hope he is okay.

Re: What happened to Tim Chapman and Gingerwood Nursery??
No, Katrina didn't wipe his place out. He escaped major damage I believe. In fact, I think he replied to a thread on this board after the hurricane hit and said that he was fine. It's just weird. He just disappeared off of the face of the earth, I guess .

Re: What happened to Tim Chapman and Gingerwood Nursery??
There was word on another board that he may have moved to California. His parents did, and speculation was that he may have also. Disclaimer: I personally have no clue; I'm just passing on what I read on another board written by somebody that knows (knew) him.
Wherever he is, he is in some deep doo-doo when he surfaces. His website is still up and running and happily stealing money from people. Who's up for a raid? I'm sure there's probably some cool stuff still there! J/K |

Re: What happened to Tim Chapman and Gingerwood Nursery??
I thought I saw a fairly recent post by him on Gardenweb. I can't locate it though. I love their search feature. Ha!

Re: What happened to Tim Chapman and Gingerwood Nursery??
I used to talk to him all the time, and order from him. Last i ordered was some seeds around the time of his last activity date that mediahound posted. they were delayed and he wrote and appologized, said some things were happening and sounded rather rushed and possibly distressed about something. i havent seen or heard of him since. i really wish i knew, i hope hes ok.

Re: What happened to Tim Chapman and Gingerwood Nursery??
Hi Bigdog,Tim got a negative on garden watchdog on 1-08-06.He took $30.00 from someone for banana seeds. There maybe more who just have not told anyone they were robbed. This is the first negative with 5 positives. He let those five people down who gave such great praise.john

Re: What happened to Tim Chapman and Gingerwood Nursery??
Tim and Gingerwood are alive and well near Baton Rouge (where I live). Tim is still researching gingers, continues to make new species available and has a significant interest in aroids as well, apparently, as all of the zingiberales (including bananas). Gingerwood is up and running and accessible at: Welcome to Gingerwood Nursery's Website
