Very nice. We get here in Queensland the Pacific plantain. Similar to Ele Ele.

Another Maoli type. This one came from Kahanu Garden in Hana, Maui and was labeled Maoli Lele Kea. I'm guessing it's a Dwarf Kaualau because it's fruiting at 8.5 feet and is growing like dwarf types do. 15 months to flower.

Gabe, wondering if you concur?

Finally Pisang Klotek is putting out an inflorescence.
This will be challenging with just two intact leaves. My experience is that the Mysore varieties are not as forgiving as Namwah and the fruits might not fill in well enough.

Thanks and Good Luck on your PK.

I measured some of the fruit on that SL-3640, length 11.75".

I'm guessing this Veinte Cohol will be about 30 lb. & 220 to 240 fruit.

I love the look of this plant it's very beautiful. Is this one of the plants you got from "aloha tropics"?

Susan
No this came from a neighbor who had them on his property when he moved there. I think the only correct things I got from Aloha Tropicals was Praying Hands. The other 10 were either wrong or weak plants that never made it. I have 2 other quite distinct Ele Ele variants. One is Polua, which I got from Angela Kepler, and is supposed to be the blackest variant. Another is a variant with more red and waxiness, which I'm guessing is Poni or Hinupua'a (shiny like hog grease in Hawaiian), as it has a more greasy look than any other cultivar I have.

Patupi, Dwarf Gros Michel, & FHIA-17, all planted in a row on the same day bloomed today. And 2 more of the Dwarf Manini or Vertically Challenged Manini also bloomed today (8 months). I really prefer growing this short variant and will be replacing all of the tall Manini.

PR, was the Dwarf Manini a somatic mutation that you found on your farm, or is it from elsewhere?
