Default What's up with my SDC?

Hi, all.

I've got a 3-year-old SDC. The pseudostem is about 3ft. It seems to be pretty healthy. It's in my office by the window, has a fairly regular temperature and gets direct sun in the morning but just fairly bright light (mainly flourescent) for the rest of the day. The last three leaves it's produced are about half the size of the others. Is it about to flower or is it just that it's the tail end of winter and it hasn't been getting enough light?

I wouldn't have thought it was ready to flower yet, especially this early in the season, so I'm worried that something's wrong.

I repotted it at the end of summer (basically cos it was about to climb out of its pot). I've been feeding it once a week while it's been growing but have eased off the feed since repotting it. Could that be why these leaves are smaller? There are a couple of pups, but they seem to be fine.

3 years old, a height of 3 feet and 3 smaller leaves. It could very well be possible thats about to flower.
You should see a flag-leave then.

Below a picture of a flag leave.

I've stuck a pic of it in my gallery.

To be honest, I don't think it's getting enough light as it's nowhere near as variegated as it used to be. However, I don't have anywhere more sunny that I can move it to for now.

I don't know, strange, I am sitting in front of the computer with a cavendish type left and right to me both in pots. They overwintered under low
light levels but don't throw out smaller leaves.

If it is about to flower, I'll be over the moon. I'm not going to hold my breath though, cos I've heard they can be very finicky.

Hope so for you, btw the variegation disappears on mine too, only the
pups show it, i think thats normal.

They do lose the variegation as they grow older. That's very normal. With the age of your plant, it could be preparing to bloom.
