Default When To Plant Outside(?)

I just hatched a Musa Ornata (Lavender Banana)(from seed) about 2 wks ago and want to stick it in the ground. Can i do it while it's this young or should i wait? Common sense says that's how they grow in the wild, but experience may say otherwise. Any thoughts on how old a plant should be before you stick in the ground?

If its adjusted to the lighting conditions it will have where you want to plant it and if there is no chance of it getting stepped on my animals or eaten up by snails/grubs,etc,then its perfectly safe and good to ground plant it already.

I usually wait until my banana plants are really nicely established before I put them in the ground. Keep it in a pot for this summer and plant it out next year when its bigger. In the wild, most young banana plants are attached to their mother because there arent too many bananas that grow from seeds (the ones that do usually do fine if the seeds are sown directly in the ground).
