This is why you gotta love Basjoo
We usually have mild winters. In the past 5 years, the date of the last freeze was 3/11 in 2003, and 2/14 in 2005. The average date of the last freeze has been 2/12.
We can still have a "frost" (like we had last night and this morning, lows of 32 both nights) but a "freeze" is unlikely after about mid-March. However, on Saturday, Feb 17, we had a one night record freeze to 23F. All the leaves froze right off of all my bananas! Now, today, March 5, less than 2 weeks later, look at my Basjoos! Leafing back out, and I have 2 pushing out blooms.
