Would like contact with Florida Farmers
Hello!
I'm at 2:00 position on Lake Okeechobee and would like to have contact with other Florida banana farmers to compare notes and share info. Blessings, Barney Oatmeal

Re: Would like contact with Florida Farmers
I would just like to network, get to know some other banana farmers, compare notes and procedures - should be of benefit to everyone.

Re: Would like contact with Florida Farmers
I'm due west of West Palm Beach...interestingly I haven't been by there in a while but at the bottom of lake-o on route 80 there is a large banana farm owned by an old cuban guy. I always buy apple bananas from him driving through...

Re: Would like contact with Florida Farmers
That's good to hear the guy is still there...I've been by the farm on D road, there was a huge dragon fruit farm nextdoor...Alot of fruit on the banana plants but seemed mostly a single cultivar.

Re: Would like contact with Florida Farmers
No criteria - I ain't gonna judge or classify anyone here - but, to me, a farmer would be someone who grows things to provide himself with a profit in some way, rather than a direct hand-to-mouth gardener.
I guess the reason that I asked for farmers in specific is because I would have more in common with them, considering the economic aspects of larger scale growing as opposed to a couple of plants in a bucket. Hey, if you're a gardener, I'd still go fishin' with ya!
