Zone 8 hardy Siam Ruby,Rojo?
Has anyone ever tried to over winter these in NC zone 8a-8b? There is a free park in Wilmington that has Rojo and it looked like it was wintered in the ground as when we watched it growing it looked beat up. They have a bunch of other hardy nanners as well. PS if anyone local to me has any of these plants that want to trade for two 4-5ft Musa Basjoo from my house in Ohio. Please let me know. Thanks

Re: Zone 8 hardy Siam Ruby,Rojo?
Go to the "zone nine hardy bananas" thread here and the "siam ruby" thread in the cold hardy forum.
Rojo is pretty tough too, more so than siam ruby. Russell Last edited by coast crab : 08-28-2009 at 07:45 PM. |

Both make it here just fine, but it's probably a little different zone 8b here than there.

Re: Zone 8 hardy Siam Ruby,Rojo?
Okay so unless Iget them cheap they are not worth the money to try and winter in the ground here in NC then. Thanks
