Going-Bananas in Homestead, FL is a great place to start. They have tons of different varieties. I believe they have siam ruby, veinte cohol and senorita. Pisang klotek is a little harder to come by, but I know there are several members on here who are growing it. You might be able to get one from them. I've also seen it occasionally at different nurseries, but because Pisang Klotek is the virus free version of Mysore, it's really good to know if the person selling it has the real McCoy. Hope this helps! Welcome to Going Bananas of Homestead, Florida! Results for BANANA PLANTS

Re: little bananas
hello,
I sent to going bananas a mail, because I'm italian but for the 24th of july I can receive an order in New York, and i would make all very fast this is the answer of them As you can see we do not list pisang susu, pisang klotek or seņorita. At this moment we do not have the veinte cool or siam Ruby available for shipping. I'm sorry. Katie still GOING BANANAS but in the list there are both siam ruby both veinte cohol, it's weird pinsag klotek and mysore are the same varieties? thanks |

I'm sorry about that. Going-Bananas is more of an old fashioned mail order nursery. They are a great seller, but their website does not show real time inventory. I've read several posts of people trying to order something from them that their website said they had, but Going-Bananas told them they were sold out. It seems that their website does not update, and they have several varieties listed as "N/A" or "Not Available" for several years. The best thing to do is, as you've done, to email them to see if they have your variety in stock. There are other nurseries as well. Although they have had mixed reactions on bananas.org, I have had great experiences with Florida Hill Nursery which does sell Siam Ruby and Viente Cohol. I definitely recommend them. pisang susu, pisang klotek or seņorita are admittedly hard to find in the mainland US unfortunately. I'm not really well versed on this, but my understanding is that pisang klotek, Pisang ceylon and mysore are all very similar and closely related. Mysore is relatively easy to find, but it has problems with a virus called Banana Streak Virus (BSV) that has actually incorporated itself into the plant's genome. The end result is that the plant can spontaneously start experiencing the virus infection, especially if it becomes stressed (heat, drought, disease, cold etc.). The only way to prevent this is to get the Mysore type that doesn't have the virus in it's genome, either the Pisang ceylon or the Pisang klotek. There are a lot of members that have had good luck with Mysore as well, hopefully maybe someone with more experience can weigh in on this. Hope this helps! Good luck with your search! Re: little bananas
Hi Andy17 thanks for the answer
Florida Hill Nursery beautiful website, with all description for all varieties... I'm sending a mail them I'm willing varieties that give small size of bananas (like veinte cohol) but super good pisang ceylon is a good banana? it's like veinte cohol? I don't want to risk with virus of mysere which is possible to pass to other varieties that stay near G |

It seems that Banana Streak Virus can only be spread by parasites like the Mealybug and certain aphids. Thankfully, it cannot be spread by mechanical means like pruning shears or scissors or soil. There are some varieties that are more resistant to it than others, but as long as these parasites are not present or they are well spaced, the likelihood of transmission is relatively low. Here are some websites and resources that might also be helpful: Mysore / Pisang Klotek - Worth it? This is an online encyclopedia of banana varieties with pictures and info about each variety--it's super helpful. Varieties are alphabetized by the tabs on the top of the page. ENCANTO FARMS Also, the bananas.org wiki is really helpful: All articles - Bananas Wiki 'Veinte Cohol' bananas are ripe, 2 months later. Hope this helps! Best wishes
