Looking Red Type Banana Plant Toronto
I am looking for one of the Red Type Banana plants as they look beautifull. In the Toronto area would be a plus.

Well, there is Siam Ruby (non-edible fruit), or an Ensete of some sort.

Re: Looking Red Type Banana Plant Toronto
Welcome to the newsletter. I'm new here, too, and I'm still looking for particular types of banana plants. I live in Campbell River, on Vancouver island, and here, Canadian Tire has red-leaved banana plants for sale for around $30. for a 3 foot plant. Maybe they sell them in T.O. as well! Good luck!

Re: Looking Red Type Banana Plant Toronto
I have been to the local Canadian Tire and there is nothing as of yet. Plus they are pricey. I picked up Banana Trees at Home Depot a few days ago for 3.99. I am still uncertain what type of trees they are.

Re: Looking Red Type Banana Plant Toronto
I was at Sobys ( queensway ) today and they had Musa Ensete for $7.99. The plants are about a foot high.
This is getting out of hand with the banana trees, I now have 9 plants |

Re: Looking Red Type Banana Plant Toronto
It's probably not going to be easy to find where you live given that red varieties tend to be cold tender. Maybe look at a specialized nursery?

Re: Looking Red Type Banana Plant Toronto
Hey, I'm in around the GTA They have some plants at lowes and Ensete ventricosums at Home depot here. Once upon a time I found my first basjoo at Metro(dominion). But as far Ice cream, very unlikely to find here.
All my Plants except 3 came from online.

Re: Looking Red Type Banana Plant Toronto
There are some good reputable sellers on ebay. Most offer tissue culture plants and their cost are fairly inexpensive. We have gotten over a dozen and all were what was described and arrived in good condition. Good luck.
