Default Want To Buy

At the risk of showing my newbie ignorance I wanted to put out a post letting growers know that I'm very interested in purchasing just about anything that will eventually pop out some tasty bananas. I'd rather have trees that produce a fairly decent sized fruit and of course must be cold hardy.

Also another question ... since I live in Kentucky does that mean that I have to wait until spring to have one shipped or if there are any within driving distance I don't mind a road trip at all.

Thanks!
Deb

Unless you have a greenhouse you are going to have some diffuiculty getting some of the tasty fruit in your area. Ice Cream, Apple, Goldfinge and Cavendish will never get there fruit to full maturity where you live.

All right! Another KY person on here with me! I live in TX now but grew up in W. KY, near Paducah. Never heard of Glens Fork, though.

I'm afraid what Chris said is true, probably no fruit for you without a greenhouse. However, if you'd be interested in just growing for the tropical effect or trying out some of the nice ornamental varieties, let me know. I have more ornamental varieties than I do edibles so I could hook you up. I wouldn't mind selling some pups to support my own banana addiction, but I'm certainly not looking to get rich. I'll keep it reasonable! Check out my list on my profile and PM me if you're interested.

Later,

Brent

Well ......... ok then. My husband's been talking about that green house for a couple years now. I'm working on getting him more interested in the bananas by having him look at the photo galleries and he's pretty impressed.
Brent thanks for your offer .. I'll be happy to take some plants off your hands and help support your banana addiction! We'll check out your photos and PM you.
