Most of the requested taxa are very rare and are not available on market.

Re: Wanted: Wild banana species. pups/corms
Sir, it is an honor to have one of your level of accomplishment and expertise reply to my inquiry. Thank you so much. Yes, I am aware of their rarity. I am taking a shot in the dark that someone on these forums may, hopefully, have access to some of these amazing specimens. I would like to cultivate all of these species in my gardens in order to make them generally available to the interested public. Again, thank you for your reply, sir. - Tad Wood

Re: Wanted: Wild banana species. pups/corms
I have Musa Chunii, Musa Griersonii, Musa Cheesmanii, Musa Yunnanensis, Musa Sanguinea.
You will never get Musa Ingens so cross that one off your list. What type of Musa Itinerans are you are after? - there are many types. These are readily available in the USA. The Borneo bananas you have are available as seed from various places, most notably Rare Palm Seeds, but I have not heard of anyone having germinated any, apart from Markku himself. Musa Rubra is a red form of Musa Basjoo. Musa schizocarpa, Musa textilis, Musa thomsonii - I have seen listed on ebay. I've not heard of a lot of the bananas you are listed. Where have you looked so far? |
