Tissue culturing resource materials
Hey there buddies,
since I'm very interested in the whole tissue culturing process and hopefully one day I too will have enough bananas to try it with, I decided to create this post. If admin wants to delete it, fine, but you see, the problem I encoutered is, that there's so many threads full of experience and advices, which is lovely and good, but for starter - many people don't even know waht you are bubbling about (sorry for the term, I just made it up ) - beginners. So I created this thread for every experienced member, that knows anything about TC or has resources (books, links to web etc.), so that they can upload it here for every amateur to read and learn. I know such texts and documents have probably been uploaded here many times, but this thread should solely serve only to a purpose of document exchange, preferrably with little or no writting, to keep it short (and I have written so much already). OK guys, make it the short way then: - if you have any exprience, put it on the .doc or .pdf and upload it here (with your nick of course in the title - for credits and thanks') - if you have any books or other printable files (pdfs or another), upload it here please - and finally, if you know about good web sites with explanations and/or kits, post it with a name above. To the file name and linknames, please don't forget to add the level of proficiency: 1, 2, 3, where 1 is beginner, 2 is intermediate and 3 is professional. Thanks so much, everyone who wants to learn the process from beginning is surely looking forward to reading it all. Jack

Re: Tissue culturing resource materials
Hello Jack,
There are a couple of threads regarding tissue culture on these forums. Have you read through them yet? Here are a couple: Tissue Culture tissue culture kits Those threads above have discussions on sources and materials. The following link sells kits for home tissue culturing: Kitchen Culture Kits - Intro Page The best book for beginners that I know of is "Plants From Test Tubes" by Lydiane Kyte. Lowest price on the planet for this book is from Amazon.com Have fun! Chong |

Re: Tissue culturing resource materials
Yes, I'm already in the process of downloading, but I also meant something advanced, so that I have complete collection and then can start pretty quickly.

Re: Tissue culturing resource materials
Hmm, got some stuff here, let's see if I'm able to post it,...
This one is to big to post, so you'll have to download it separately: Methods in Molecular Biology, vol. 6, Plant Cell and Tissue Culture. (37.8 Mb) Kind Regards, Remko. |

Re: Tissue culturing resource materials
I took the liberty (and time!) to pdf-the Banana Improvement book,
just so I can put it in my own archives,... It's a little more convenient than a website by my opinion. Kind regards, Remko. |

Re: Tissue culturing resource materials
Very nice idea , Jack. Some people, even though they help, post some exxtremely scientific lecturing. Somebody like me needs the very basics to start with.
