I will be getting some in from agristarts, they should be big enough to go by April/May. I love the ice cream bananas! They are so pretty when they are growing because of their blueish color and the white frosty basksides of the leaves.
My "breakroom" banana picture on webshots.com is an ice cream banana. That monster is in my 10' tall greenhouse right now and I'm fully expecting a bloom this summer/fall, it's already 9 feet tall and with four pups in that pot.

I had to get in a few of the ice cream since it's going to bloom, people will be wanting one just like it.

i know you do. my orinico (oscar) is just opening his second leaf.and just in case any of you out there in nanaland have never bought a crom from jarred...they are HUGE!!. they even smell good too. and yes before you ask i did smell the roots. if you smell the roots you can tell if it is a healthy plant.

a healthy plant or tree will have almost a fresh smell to it mixed with an earthy smell. if it smells like wet cardboard dont buy it. i will pull a plant or tree out of the pot and smell the roots before i buy one, i dont care if im in a gh or if im in walmart. you get funny looks but i dont want to buy a tree or plant that has the beginnings of root rot. you can smell the rot one it has started. i have done this with all but 2 of my plants that i own. and of the 2 i was lucky to get a good one out of the two. the monstera i bought friday i didnt take out the pot because it had cracked the pot and i could smell from there. yall might think im nuts by i swear it works.

thats interesting im learning a lot from you next time i buy a plant im checking underside of leaves for scale (or anything else that doesnt look right) and im smelling the roots!
