Default Bananas for sale in San Diego

Hi All,
I haven't posted for a LONG time, we moved nearly two years ago and it's been pretty hectic. We have quite a few bananas going at the new house and need to thin them out some. All pups are $5, some are big (not really pups) and some are normal sized pups.

We have the following varieties:
Mona Lisa
Manzano
Dwarf Namwah
Double mahoi
Brazilian
Ice cream
White Iholena
Goldfinger
Williams

I may be forgetting a few varieties, but we have a lot of pups that need to go.

I also have a large Musa cheesemannii that has a few LARGE (6'+) pups at $35 each. This is a very nice looking species banana with dark purple/black pseudostems. It has done well for me, grown from seed about 3 years ago. Not sure about the fruit quality, first crop is not quite ready (it will have seeds though).

Send me a PM if interested.

Matt

What part of San Diego? I am in the north county and wondering how far the drive will be. What is your fruiting experience with these types?

I'm in University City.

I've found that Mona Lisa is the fastest to flower, followed by Goldfinger. The fruit on Goldfinger seems to mature faster than any other variety I've tried. And both Mona Lisa and Goldfinger can have a LOT of fruit at once. Dwarf Namwah is also a consistent fruiter, the fruit is a little less tangy than the others, it's my wife's favorite.

My favorite fruit is Manzano, which also bears consistently, but just a bit slower than the ones above. Ice Cream can have unbelievably good fruit (better than Manzano even), but we've only had really good fruit on Ice Cream once, and the other times it's only average.

Of the varieties listed, White Iholena seems to be a bit more tender than the others. Williams and Double Mahoi are the shortest. Brazillian is the tallest, and the fruit is usually the smallest.
