Re: Who wants a Dwarf "variegated" Namwa Pearl?
This is the site that is selling them on ebay... so everyone doesn't have to bid the price up on ebay. I've bought from them before and they were a pretty good seller.

Re: Who wants a Dwarf "variegated" Namwa Pearl?
Do these really show even minor variegation when they mature? I've seen small ones and they were just small green banana plants.

Re: Who wants a Dwarf "variegated" Namwa Pearl?
If you go to the link you provided and click on the picture to enlarge it you can see some dark variegation on one of the leaves.

Re: Who wants a Dwarf "variegated" Namwa Pearl?
I saw that but I'd also like to hear it from someone other than a person trying to sell it. Give me three minutes with photoshop and I can turn a basjoo into an AeAe
I've seen others about the same size as the one shown in that pic and they didn't show any variegation. I'd like to pick up a Namwa Pearl but I'd first like to understand if it's like cleopatra canna (some strains have puple/green striped foliage and others are all green) or if they all get a pearl variegation. The source could be the key |

Re: Who wants a Dwarf "variegated" Namwa Pearl?
I just got mine from Eldon, I arranged for it to arrive today. I have to say I'm happy about it, the plant is small but true to the size posted on their website. I liked that the plants I received did show that slight faint variegation. I know some of the plants purchased on ebay last year was nothing more than a pale green banana. I decided to give it another try after seeing what I think was a fairly large specimen of what was described as a "Pearl." It was incredible, pure white new emergent leaves that would eventually fade into a slightly variegated green leaf banana. But somehow I doubt what I received will achieve that kind of incredible variegation.

Re: Who wants a Dwarf "variegated" Namwa Pearl?
Got mine yesterday. I have to say it, it was very well-packed and about 6" tall without the pot. Now it's happily growing on my 1 gal. pot.
Thinking about getting another one. Carlos |
