Banana Seed Germination Forum As one of the toughest seeds in the plant kingdom to figure out the keys to germination success with, this is a forum with banana seed germination tips. Please entitle posts like "Musa balbisiana," or "Musa cheesmani," etc. People would then post a reply under that heading, sharing their germination successes (and failures), what materials and methods they used, germination percentage, etc.

Default germinating media

I had an idea today (like you do!) I'm going to try banana seeds in florists oasis.......wet the oasis push the seeds in, seal in a plastic bag and put in the propagator. If i put them in neat rows it should be easy to just slice the seed out and pot up without disturbing the root!! As it happens I have some seeds in soak right now (Musa Velutina ) so will try 1/2 using this method and let you know if it works - or not!

Sounds like a good idea. I have some sown in a sponge. I just made slits and slid them in. I was thinking of doing what you were saying and just cut that section and pot it up. Keep us posted.
