Banana Seed Germination Forum As one of the toughest seeds in the plant kingdom to figure out the keys to germination success with, this is a forum with banana seed germination tips. Please entitle posts like "Musa balbisiana," or "Musa cheesmani," etc. People would then post a reply under that heading, sharing their germination successes (and failures), what materials and methods they used, germination percentage, etc.

I agree with Sunfish. Damping off is the term used for seedlings that are kept too moist and suffer death at the hands of a fungus.
Once sprouted be sure to keep the top of the soil dryer than you might think is needed. This will also help root developement in a downward direction.
Good job on the germination and expect to lose a few for add reasons you may never figure out.

All are doing great and growing fast. No deaths yet. A buddy of mine who owns a hydroponic shop wanted me to see how they would do in a hydroponic bubbler. I put 3 little ones in and within 2 days they've out grown alot of the older plants and seem to love it.

Excuse my ignorance but what are those sprouting!!!! are those banana babies? if so , are they eatable bananas and where can i buy the seeds.
