Banana Seed Germination Forum As one of the toughest seeds in the plant kingdom to figure out the keys to germination success with, this is a forum with banana seed germination tips. Please entitle posts like "Musa balbisiana," or "Musa cheesmani," etc. People would then post a reply under that heading, sharing their germination successes (and failures), what materials and methods they used, germination percentage, etc. |

And now the waiting starts
Yesterday I planted my banana seeds (four varieties) from three different sources. I havn't tried growing bananas before so I don't know how successful my strike rate will be, but here's hoping.
By the way, the varieties are M. Sikkimensis, dwarf Cavendish and two different types of M. Ornata. |

Re: And now the waiting starts
Good luck Peter, you never know what kind results you'll get from banana seed but you may have some in seedlings in a month if you're lucky.

Re: And now the waiting starts
You don't have to argue with them, there is all kinds of misunderstanding/fraud on ebay with banana seeds (noting the famous Aeae banana seeds which are sometimes sold on ebay) but there is no such thing as Dwarf Cavendish seeds. I'm sure they are some type of banana seed, but the plants from them will not be Dwarf Cavendish.
