Banana Seed Germination Forum As one of the toughest seeds in the plant kingdom to figure out the keys to germination success with, this is a forum with banana seed germination tips. Please entitle posts like "Musa balbisiana," or "Musa cheesmani," etc. People would then post a reply under that heading, sharing their germination successes (and failures), what materials and methods they used, germination percentage, etc. |

Received my 200 seeds
I've got them in trays now. This should be interesting. I'll report back weekly or in a month with any results. I plan on just sticking them outside somewhere? Or maybe next to the window. I want a some temp variation, like some suggest.

Re: Received my 200 seeds
I would reccomend varying the places you put them, like put some outside and some inside and see what works best for you.

Re: Received my 200 seeds
I'll do that. Up here the days are usually between 70-80F and the nights 50-60F. Inside it stays right around 70F. I had them in full sun earlier, but moved them. I think inside the tray (with the plastic cover) its going to get awfully hot when the JUNE sun shows its face. I'll mix it up a little.

Re: Received my 200 seeds
Thats where they've been now since the 5th. I'm looking for a sprout by the 4th of July, but won't cry if it doesn't happen. Its been very HOT lately (upper 80's) and is going to go into the low 90's, with overnight temps in the low to mid 60's... Should be perfect germination weather?

Re: Received my 200 seeds
Just an update. I have 5 sprouts already. Thats less then 20 days. Kept outside in the shade, watered almost daily and temps have been anywhere between 92F and mid 50F's. Pictures will be up shortly.
