Banana Seed Germination Forum As one of the toughest seeds in the plant kingdom to figure out the keys to germination success with, this is a forum with banana seed germination tips. Please entitle posts like "Musa balbisiana," or "Musa cheesmani," etc. People would then post a reply under that heading, sharing their germination successes (and failures), what materials and methods they used, germination percentage, etc. |

Seed Sources - Good & Bad
Howdy everyone. I haven't been actively growing bananas yet in 2008 but that is about to change.
Does anyone have some suggestions for good old reliable seed sources or new ones that have come onto the banana radar lately? Also does anyone know of any to stay away from? Forgive me if there is already a recent thread like this one started.

I use seedtrack too. I bought adenium seeds and had a 90% germination rate. Seeds are touchy and have to be fresh. I bought same seeds from Hirt's seeds and nothing. Also bought pachypodium and nothing. When I complained I was told I must have done something wrong. Watch Out for this one. He sells on Amazon and Ebay. |

Re: Seed Sources - Good & Bad
Hi everyone, I just started soaking ensete seeds I bought from seedtrack.com. Instructions say two day soak but I see some of you soak for weeks. Will I see a taproot
sprouting before attempting to put in soil? After seeing the percentage of viable seed I decided to plant all twenty. This will be a neat trick if I get to pull this one off. Also just got two Musa Bordlone from banana plants.net. I was amazed hhow healthy they looksd. They are both about a foot tall. I also have Bajoo coming 4/27. Site said you had to order in advance cause of a shortage. Didn't want to take any chances. So I ordered. Still going bananas in NJ Raggedy |

Some say 2 days some say 5 days. You have to rinse the seeds everyday they soak, and add new water. Good Luck :^) |
