Default banana pup problem

I planted a 8 inch banana pup that i cut from the mother plant 3 weeks ago. It does not seem to be growing an the mother plant seems to be not doing so well. The mother plant is about a foot. I fertilize it with miracle grow plant food once a week, mixed in with water. I water it once every day. Why is it not growing, and can I help it?
I am in Zone 7.

Default Re: banana pup problem

Stop fertilizing until you actually see new growth. Also very little water.
Everything else seems overkill. Maybe a little Superthrive or Mycorizae will help to build a healthy root system, but I would let the plants be for now, both plants seem extremely small anyways and I would have not removed the pup. But it is done now, so just wait and see.
