Default Corm rot - Anything I can do?

I have a Ensete Glaucum and its corm is rotting. It still has a green truck about 12 inches high but I dug it to see why it isn't growing and discovered the bottom is rotting. Is there anything I can do at this point to save it?

Clean the black soft rotten parts off and treat with bleach water (1/2 cup bleach per gal). But you need to figure out what caused the rot. ... Now it will tae a long time for the corm to recover if it recovers. But you may get a couple of pups.
