Greenhouse diseases
I am wondering why banana cultivations in greenhouses is so troublesome. At least it seems to be for others, I've not tried yet. Diseases seem to afflict the plants, which is odd because I thought the greenhouse is a very controlled and isolated environment (you could keep diseases out) but it seems they show up from somewhere (maybe the soil or food or water?)
Even installing fans for air movement does not help that much, since the air cannot be taken away, rather it just circulates and spreads the disease. Any thoughts much appreciated. Last edited by Mango Stein : 11-14-2021 at 06:20 AM. |

Re: Greenhouse diseases
I'm curious as to where you got that information from. I haven't been able to find much on greenhouse house problems. I've put up a greenhouse around my banana plants during the cold months for the past two years with no issues. I'd imagine excess heat and humidity in summer would be a problem if there isn't enough ventilation but I read up on a guy in Sweden that had banana thriving in 47C (116F).
