Leaf color change diagnosis base on pictures
Hello
One of my friends gave me some banana sapling which was kept in green house I keep them in my room. Their leaves color has changed. Base on pictures needs your diagnosis First some brown line appears on tips and turning to yellow while it moves inward then becomes black and totally leaves color has changed from dark green to light green Suspicious about these: Too much watering Low watering moisture Low lighting Ambient temperature (its beside window) All your comments welcomed Thanks all Last edited by mehrenarsy : 12-31-2014 at 04:17 AM. |

Re: Leaf color change diagnosis base on pictures
To me it just looks like old leaves getting ready for new leafs to follow.
but I will add, that the last 4 pictures the soil looks really wet. |

Re: Leaf color change diagnosis base on pictures
It looks like its time to cut off and remove the few old lower leaves as you would for any banana plant. It will keep the plant healthy.
Nice little crop! What type of Banaana are they? |

Re: Leaf color change diagnosis base on pictures
Such young suckers dont need a lot of water. If the leavesare generally strong and healthy like in your photos -I'd keep the soil from being really wet all the time .Once the soil is moist ,not too wet-leave it so the plant can comfortably get the nutrients from the soil-Its only when they get biggger-much bigger and they're in the ground that you need to give them more water. The soil can only hold a certain amount of water. Hope this helps .

Re: Leaf color change diagnosis base on pictures
Not a full table spoon if soil is already wet. If soil is wet wait till you can see it needs a Bit more I'd take a smaller spoon maybe a desert spoon. Experience will help. Keep the soil just wet not saturated

Re: Leaf color change diagnosis base on pictures
In a well drained media, in 2.5 L pot, 100 mL/day was best.
