I have 2 new dwarf Banana plants just purchased memorial day 2011.

The leaves seem okay but seeing brown and yellow leaves. See attached Pics any advice or is this okay?

I use a organic plam /Tropical plant fertilizer once a month, plants are kept outdoors, Avg heat 90's, 10 hrs of direct sun per day, water once a day. See attached photos:

Looks like a little shock from the location change. Food and water should be fine. 90 degree average is a bit warm so you can expect to see some leaf damage. Lower leaves will always turn yellow then brown, that's normal. They would do better in the ground rather than in pots.

Hey momoese. Is there anything to do to help them recover. I got these back on memorial day.

Thanks,

Tony

Plant them ASP. Give them a lot of water and that old leaves will be history in no time.

Dalmatiansoap
I will be keeping them potted, but will be repotting into a much larger pots this year. I want them mobile.

Questions:
1. When can I re-pot these?
2. Will re-potting help them recover faster?

Thanks,
Tony
