New Goldfinger
Hello all,
I'm new to this forum and to growing bananas so this is my first post. I was wondering if I could get some advice. I just bought a goldfinger that's in a 6 inch pot and is about 12" tall. When I brought it home the leaves were full and somewhat flat. A day after, however they seemed to have "folded" a little and the tinier leaves near the bottom looked like they were dying. The larger leaves seem fine but have some darker spots on them. I had left it outside all day in the sun while at work so I'm assuming that it needed water thus the dead small leaves. After a thorough watering and a few hours the bigger leaves perked up a bit. I guess what I need advice on is how much water does a young plant need, when do I put it into a larger pot and when is a good time to plant it in the ground? I'm afraid I going to kill it if not stress the heck out of it so any help is greatly appreciated! I tried uploading a pic but it wouldn't let me attach it. Located: Chandler, AZ (Phoenix area) |
