dwarf namwah



unidentified tall banana with two bloom stalks this year! first time ever, one bloom's out all the way and the other is just peeking out of the center of the stalk...its real hard to get a picture of both in the same picture, so bear with me

They are huge. like 36" w X 40" tall. this is the second time that these mats have flowered in these pots. The dw. namwah flowered two years ago, and the tall one must be an overachiever because it flowered last year and now two blooms this year. It doesn't get as many bananas per hand though. Not sure what kind it is at all.

I'm not new to gardening, but I am new to bananas. How do you handle these monster plants during the winter? How do you move them? Do you cut them down every year to fit a greenhouse? How often do you change the potting medium, or do you?
