Eventually the base will be 10+ inches wide and the pstem height 7+ feet. What then?

Re: Container grown Blue Java
Looks exactly like my Blue Java looked back in August 2010, so I defintely think you have the real thing. They grew slowly for me in containers, but they grow really fast in the ground (mine got about 3 feet of new p-stem in the ground this past year). I got mine in April 2010 as a small 1-2 foot tall plant and today its 9 feet tall to the tallest leaf. I dig it up and bring it indoors during the winter.
They are one of my favorite bananas, but I also like Sabas which is my fastest growing banana

Re: Container grown Blue Java
Saba might be the fastest growing banana. There's a picture here on bananas.org somewhere of Saba in the tropics: 1 meter wide at the base and 15 meters tall.

Re: Container grown Blue Java
Sabas might be the tallest banana plants in the world. Not sure what I will do with mine 2 years from now if its over 15 feet tall!
