Mix for SDC in container
I'm moving my SDC (that I've only had for about three weeks) to a bigger pot (~20 gallons). I'm using the recipe of 1/3 pearlite - 1/3 coconut hull - 1/3 compost and that leaves a couple questions.
This thing seems pretty happy right now, and we're trying to keep it that way. :-) Thanks for any guidance. Rob! Last edited by AlbertaRob : 05-05-2012 at 10:29 PM. |

Re: Mix for SDC in container
The mix sounds good. I use a combination of perlite, finely shredded pine, peat moss, bone/blood meal and compost. It drains super fast but the peat and compost retain good moisture.
I pretty much use that mix with all my containers to include veggies. I've noticed a drastic difference since I ditched bagged soil. |
