Re: Problem IC
Just put bag over it for humidity and that should stop her from watering .

Re: Problem IC
Taking the opposite point of view. She's a kid, let her have fun with it and kill it if thats what she'd do. It's only a replaceable banana. Ice creams are a dime a dozen. The best gardeners get there by killing a few along the way and learning from it. If it isn't fun for her she probably won't do it too long.

Re: Problem IC
You should let her come water my IC. It's in a 7 gallon pot right now and after watering it with almost a gallon of water, it looks dry in a few hours. I doubt she could over-water this thirsty beast as long as the sun is shining. LOL.

Re: Problem IC
Thank you for your input & kind offers!
Brent, Christel says if she pulls this plant through, she'd love to have another IC to celebrate!! She is 20yo... She has been reading with me at night to up her knowledge on bananas & other plants. She wants to be successful with this as she spent her own money to buy it. She doesn't want to be like some young people who don't care & when they're done with it(something), they're done! She is putting forth effert! I applaud her for trying!! Thank you for all your Help! ~Cheryl & Christel

Re: Problem IC
I buy stuff with my own money and still kill it. LOL. I actually am going to lean towards BOB and say let her go on her own. Let her do her own research and if she kills it, let her ask why.
A great friend told me " you ain't no expert til' you killed at least a thousand plants. You learn by makin mistakes. alex |

Re: Problem IC
A thousand? That could get expensive! I say there is no such thing as an expert. We all have problems with our plants at some point.
