![]() New Banana here, ordered 2 trees, a dwarf Jamaican red and a dwarf cavendish and my question is what size pot will these things need to end up in? They haven't arrived but they will be indoors most of the year and outdoors over the summer.

![]() Well, you should be fine in a 7 gallon pot for a while. Don't start off too terribly huge to begin with since the soil won't dry out well (and you'll get fungus gnats...trust me, not good!). Then once they get pretty big, you can switch them to a larger pot. Eventually, you'll probably want a 15-25 gallon size.

![]() My DC has been in an 18 gallon for a year now and has been doing fine and is easy to move in and out of the house, but I think I will go up to a 30 gallon at the end of the season (maybe sooner) when I go to change the soil. Some say smaller pots (15 gal) are good and swear by them, others will say 30 gal. but the choice is yours, just watch them grow and if they show root stress, pot it up 1 or 2 sizes.

When the ice cream gets big it will be moved into a 65gal |
