![]() According to the Canadian company, Lambert, they have the coarsest peat moss which indicates that it hasn't been dead and decomposed for as long a time as other brands of peat moss. See
https://www.lambertpeatmoss.com/ Lambert Peat Moss The problem is that the only retail online seller in the US that ships Lambert products is A.M Leonard, 241 Fox Drive, Piqua, OH 45356. https://www.amleo.com/search/?q=lambert They sent me email spam offering free shipping on orders over $99. I think, "What a great opportunity to buy Lambert products." When I check out my cart for a $120 order, they try to charge me $300 shipping. So, I just leave their website without completing my order. Then they have the nerve to bother me like it isn't obvious why I abandoned my order. It turns out that there is a weight maximum for free ground shipping. I ask them to break up the order to get free ground shipping and they refuse. There is a wholesale seller, BFG. https://www.bfgsupply.com/search-results?term=lambert They have a $400 minimum order which is acceptable to me, but, they won't deliver to a residential address. What arrogance! These two companies are basically saying FU to potential customers. Even Chinese companies treat American cusomers better than these two American companies. And then they wonder why they lose customers to the Chinese. |

![]() Years ago Lambert was the only peat sold in stores locally until other brands were introduced. The product had a large grind and an awesome amendment.
Peat is processed at different screen levels depending on the end use application. Commercial trades uses a fine grind to fill those cell pack flowers and veggies that you get at the big box. Big box store peat bales are medium to fine screened for general consumer use however I have gotten some that I consider peat dust off the same skid. Local better garden centers as well as hydroponic stores will usually carry a course screened peat or a mix that contains it. A manufacturer Promix has different grinds of peat that could work. Amazon has a few choices which might work too Shipping is pricey for a bale of peat .... Last edited by cincinnana : 03-10-2022 at 09:04 AM. Reason: tipo |

https://www.menards.com/main/outdoor...3608034794.htm I recently bought 3 3 cubic ft of Sunshine Mix No. 4 online from Ace Hardware and shipping was only $52. That compares with $300 that A.M. Leonard wanted to charge. Unfortunately, the quality of Sunshine Mix 4 has declined since I last used it 30 years ago. Now, the peat moss in it is too fine, even finer than Premier. https://www.acehardware.com/departme...t-moss/7326820 And, this Promix potting mix from local Menards is even finer: https://www.menards.com/main/outdoor...3608034794.htm So I want Lambert potting mix and/or peat moss. |

![]() Hi, ive been growing carnivore plants (fly traps, pitcher plants, sticky sundews) for many years and they only grow in nutrient poor moist soils, we use 50/50 peat moss and silica sand.
our go to peat moss is a 235Ltr compressed bale of "Te-em" brand peat moss from canada as it hasnt been adulterated with nutrients, lime or other things which kill CP's. if i can get it in Australia surely you can get it in USA ? |
