![]() Has anyone else used it before? I have been finding that I like working with mushroom compost more than Black Cow. Someone told me in Cali Mushroom compost is everywhere and cheap, like $10 a truck load where here in FL I am paying about $4.97 of a 2 Cube Ft. Bag.
Anyone else have an opion of Mushroom compost vs black cow or other types of compost? |

![]() WormFarmer,
Up around Quincy Fl there was a mushroom farm where you could get it cheap BUT you had to have BIG truck, 8 yard or larger I think. Insurance regs wouldn't let them load smaller trucks. I have used it before. Bought it from a middleman in MIlton FL. Very nice stuff.

![]() I have gotten 4 very large truckloads from a mushroom farm in Zellwood and have been very happy with it! Grew all my veggies in it this year. The only problem I found is that it did not hold any water what so ever so it dries out very fast. That and it being such a dry year this year and so frickin hot.....
They just dumped huge pile of it with a giant front loader into the back of my father in laws F350 dually. It was a few feet above the roofs and just running over the sides. lol I was so afraid I was going to get pulled over... haha Oh ya and the piles were so hot I had to let it sit for a while to burn off a lot of the nitrogen...and it took a whole day almost to unload the truck each time. Especially the day I picked up a load all by myself.

![]() Monterey Mushroom Farm and it was $10 a load. Truck or Trailer load.
Its an extended bed dually. Was a lot of weight! F150 is 1/2 ton, F250 is a 3/4 ton and F350 is a 1 ton

![]() Wow! 10$ a load. I'd wear my truck out. You don't know how lucky you are. I need a place like that around here.
