Re: Banana seeds or corms wanted
I'm from West-Flanders ( Ieper to be very precise ) close to the frontier of France. We enjoy here a subtropical climat of 4 weeks with an occasional rain.
Soon i will go on holiday and enjoy the Dominican climate ( right now it's way too hot !! ). But because of work it's the only moment i can go there with my wife. Nice to meet you, fellow Belgian friend 'Yakuza'! Belgium forces are growing ha ha. Now we will try the same thing with some goddamned banana species. Let's hope we don't encounter any more of this artic freezing f***ing winters anymore ( -13 we had past winter some days uphere!) I'm planning to move much material inside in the coldest moment of the winter. Don't want to risk to loose my beloved nanners. |

Re: Banana seeds or corms wanted
Thats an honor Jack Daw !
I also positioned my location on the map. And filled in some more details in my profile. Still on the "checking out" and "learning track" here ! Somebody did a lot of work creating this forum. It's quiet extensive and well build! If i have a little pup after my holidays ( will be back 8 august ) i will send it you. |

Re: Banana seeds or corms wanted
On my digital thermometer i had a reading of minus 14 during one cold night. On television they were talking about even minus 20 in some regions in Belgium. I lost some big musa basjoos that were very carefully protected. I had the basjoos here in perfect condition until late november. The horror came in december - februari. Only three months. This winter was very harsh for us. The worst in 20 years ( exceptional).
Hopefully we will not encounter this more due to a slow changing climat. Lets see how next winter will be. |

Re: Banana seeds or corms wanted
Hi everybody!
I would like to grow a dwarf lady finger, but it’s very hard to obtain around here. Thus I ask if any member from the EU can send me corms or pups (or even a small plant) of dwarf lady finger. Unfortunately I’m beginner and I don’t have seeds/corms to exchange, but I can at least pay the shipping costs. Thanks a lot! |

Re: Banana seeds or corms wanted
I have sow a bunch of Glaucum seeds today.
Nothing unusuall, beside the fact that seeds are originally from Croatia. So, Im hopeing to get my first real domestic banana sprouts . Time will tell us and if nothing we will know if Glaucum can provide viable seeds in this climate. Wish me luck.
