Seņorita and Viente Cohol
Given that i'm really after those two, do the other europen memember know the most reliable way to obtain these?
A quick search limited to official european shops didn't returned anything for these two. I'm wondering if someone has those as hobbist, or are those in tissue cultured anywhere in europe (i know, they are probably in belgium, but they are also iunobtainable from there). Otherwise if those two aren't in europe, i'm willing to try, in spring, the painful, dangerous and frustrating method of importing them from outside EU, but i'm clueless about who is able to send them here with a phyto (expecially regarding Seņorita). So any suggestion is well accepted. |

Re: Seņorita and Viente Cohol
I don't know about Senorita, but I know there's a seller on eBay who is from Thailand and they've got Veinte Cohol, they ship to the US with a Cert, so I'd assume they could ship to Europe too? But I'm not fully sure. They're not cheap but if you have no other source, they're the way to go.
Here's an example listing - Bulb Musa Kluai Hom Thong Son Veinte Cohol Banana Free Phytosanitary Certificate | eBay Although now that I've read it, looks like they do ship worldwide, but Euro customers can't get the Cert. |

Re: Seņorita and Viente Cohol
It says it's just the bulb, no soil or anything, from good size plant. I see what you mean on delivery time though. I've had plants come from Thailand in great health. Very sensitive plants. I don't know how they were shipped though, never actually looked. Perhaps next time I should really pay attention to that.

Re: Seņorita and Viente Cohol
Thank you guys for your suggestions.
I will consider that source. Too bad importing regulations are hard to follow in italy, and i'll have to take special arrangments regarding packing. It's not something that will be done in a short time, i'm just searching for sources right now. Before march-april i won't be able to get my bananas to grow anyway. That being said, thank you! Apparently Veinte Cohol is somewhat reachable from europe, but does anyone knows a source for Seņorita? I have seen pictures of it cultivated in usa, so i know that someone there must have it. Outside USA i never heard about it. I'm not even sure if it is a cultivar grown only in philippines or it is also grown anywhere else, under some other name (sources don't seem to agree on this point). |

Re: Seņorita and Viente Cohol
Yes, from this thread. Anyway he says the he got rid of it, and he doesn't have it anymore. Still, he must have got his one from some place...
Chasbear here says that there are two kinds of senorita, one ripening in 9 weeks, and one ripening in 7 weeks, i suppose i'm searching for the latter... |

Re: Seņorita and Viente Cohol
Dear Pancrazio,
AgriStarts has Musa "Viente Cohol" in production but their propagation agreements do not allow them to ship them outside the USA in the moment. But they are optimistic that this will chance in future. As soon as this whould be the case I will import them into the EU. Unfortunatelly I do no Seņorita grower know here in Europe at the moment. Best wishes, Markus
