Some pictures from Thailand!

Our friends from Thailandplant have them:
1 Bulb of Musa (ABB group) 'Kluai Nam Wa Naun Jun' Banana Plant, ThailandPlant.com

On their pics it's not as white as it looks on musaboru's pics here on the .org, but I wonder what cold hardiness it has? Namwahs are quite hardy, but I don't know if this aplies to this sport?

I don't know if it's something similar to the one u'r looking for, but on e-bay there's a namwah for sale...
I put the auction in the "Nurseries and shop..... in Europe"
If you search other items for salee from the same seller there shuld be another kind of Namwah cultivar.....

My V.C. is in process to be cleared by customs..... he package has arrived at Milan Customs' hup on 17/11 and it's waiting for fiscal's papers that I've already sent by fax....

So, now I've lost two days for burocracy.... grrrrr

Damned italian customs..... My V.C. is still stuck in Milan because there's none there willing to do their work!

Mine is also stuck at customs. Usually Greek Postal Service (same in Germany) is doing all the work and you pay any duties & taxes at the delievery guy. Unless there's something special...
But in my case I didn't need to show up at customs or send anything. According to the tracking system my VC just spend one week in customs, but I see some progress and it might be out of customs now. I'll let you know as soon as I got news.

Maybe all packages are inspected more intensive due to the recent events.

The thing that freak me out is that I spent 30 $ more to upgrade to EMS to get it after 3 weeks as if I payed for cheap international shipping.....
At least I hope to get it after 3 weeks.....

If you can keep it going over winter and start out with a p-stem over 2' or so it should produce fruit next year.

Can you see that sort of white mold in the bottom ? What should I do ? Just plant it or do I have to cut it out ?

Cut that of and wash healthy tissue well, maybe to even tret it with some funghicide and hope for the best.
How long they were keeping it? Two weeks?

What if I use only the funghicide instead of cutting the corm ?

That part looks totaly infested to me. I cut everything what is black, brown and rotten. Try to clean it and than decide.

Which active ingredient is the best as far as fungal diseases are concerned? I have serious problems with one of my bananas. I guess it`s not enough to cut the infested parts...

For rotting bulbs the best are preparations which contain grapefruit seeds extract (In Poland this substance is registered as "Grevit 200SL")or just check which preparations damage
Botrytis cinerea
Erwinia
Alternaria
Sclerotinia scleratiorum
You can also use fungicide with has /copper (II) oxychloride/

After cutting anything off the bulb, it is good to sprinkle the wound with powdered charcoal.

My VC was rejected by Greek Customs. I don't know why they did it. All papers should have been in order, but they sent it back!
Maybe the officer in charge had no idea what to do with it and what the phytosanitary papers mean. This happens often here, that official don't know how to do the work they're supposed to do.
They didn't even contact me. They just returned it.
