Sprinkler head?
Hello,
I have a 85 gallon per hour pump from and old aquarium and I am trying to set up an aeroponic system in a bucket. I am just going to use a sprinkler head from lowes or homedepot, in the middle of the bucket to spray the inside of the bucket and splash water everywhere else. I know nothing of sprinklers and I am wondering what kind of nozzle to get. I got one but it seems to restrict the pump to much and just trickles out. I can take it off put my finger over the end and it sprays fairly well. Any suggestions on what kind of nozzle to get? |

Re: Sprinkler head?
I did that is how I got the idea. I watched this one.
The problem is I don't know what kind of sprinkler head to use. They have so many kinds. I grabbed a 360º head but they have so many designs I don't know the difference. |

Re: Sprinkler head?
Ah good idea I will check for one with a higher gpm.
I also set one up with an air stone and air pump, it works great. I found that using a T splitter and using two small stones, opposite each other at the side of the bucket works well. It seems to get better coverage with the splashing than just one stone in the middle. At least with my pump, which was also left over aquarium stuff. If I get it working I will post a picture and what nozzle I used. |

Re: Sprinkler head?
Some orchid sprinkler heads are small. You could look there also . Im not sure about low water pressure.. Small Pumps are pretty low in the pressure department .. The impellers that move the water are very small and have a lot of wiggle room for some odd reason. Perhaps they all use same impeller casing and only increase motor amps and rpm to deliver more gallons per hour.. Just a guess . Good luck.... I will also enjoy seeing this set up when your finished
