That plant flowered about 10 years ago but I can send you a couple of sword pups that are related to it.

If you don't want 2 Florida I probably can send a variegated Florida with a variegated Tani.

This is a photo of one of the hands that Florida produced.

well i believe i may have lost both floridas.

i now have one planted in aquarium rock and MAY be responding.

out of the box both showed signs of growth, the one that was topped had a quarter of an inch growth and the other had some root coming out of the corm.
but that was as far as either did anything after potting. they just slowly withered away. i have had a plant or 2 do this but they always came back.

when i finally decided to pull them from the pots i found a yellow sulferish mold about the size of a marble on both. other than that there was no rot visible. using my knife i found that both mold went to black rot. one the rot went up the center completely eating out the center of the corm. the other one had black only going into it a half an inch.

not knowing what to do i decided to plant the better one in the aquarium rock i had been growing a raja Puri in for better than a year. it looks like may be responding.

sorry about the quality of the photos, i probably should have taken them in a better light

Sorry dude. I've had some success recovering rotting corms by putting them in Lechuza PON. Its expensive but I haven't lost a water sensitive plant while using it.

That's disappointing. I probably should have sent a bag of sand with your plant. Let's see how mchris752 does with pon before making any plans.

I sent you two large plants because they allow the grower to make multiple mistakes before it's game over. I find the smaller plants are much easier and quicker to acclimate but they need to be done correctly on the first time.

I recommend using it with a clear pot/container. Easy to see how much water is there and can identify browning roots much quicker.

Here is one I managed to save. Took two months to recover :S. Cut off all rotting roots. Dried it for a week. I would only add enough water so that I could see a little in the bottom of the cup. The corm (TC) and remaining root was placed about 2 inches away from the bottom of the cup. When the water dried up I would repeat. Its much better to have this starving for water than the opposite.

thanks. you must have your plants trained to grow in rock. they should have had no trouble growing in the potting soil. to me it looked like that one was still alive. so............. so, i did a what if. now you have me curious.

rock salt. nooo when the manini died it was obvious that it was over watered. the aquarium rock that i bought was smooth and polished and after studying your rock i saw that your rock was broken and not uniformed. my wife had some cute pink aquarium rock that resembled your aggregate almost perfectly. and she has a lot of it.

i have gone a step further.......

in one post you said that your property was about as fertile as the center of I95. [would that be the asphalt or the median? ] kinda wondering if your bananas might be getting a little something from your rock. anyways so with that i bought 10 pounds of crushed sandstone. quite pricy, 25 bucks. not quite enough to fill a 2 1/2 gallon pot. i have a hole ready for the florida, i will plant her in a couple of weeks after the cow manure and compost have a bit of time to calm down. i will be using the pots with the rock for long term planting from now to see what i can learn from it.

side note; you can see some of the brown polished aquarium rock in the pics with the pink rock.
