Default Cold Warning

A beautiful plant, but not seemingly as fast growing as others and very little cold tolerance. This plant will die in 40 degree weather, whereas most bananas need below freezing (32) to react. It also tends to not tolerate full sun as much as other bananas. More or less this is a good house plant but not much of a patio plant. In tropical region you might need to plant it next to wall such as next to a house or something.

What zone are you in? I am wondering if I will be able to start an outdoor pup next spring in the pacific northwest and try to winter it outside. Any others in zone 8b with outdoor experience?
