"bananas.org is not responding due to a long-running script"
Lately, Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 has been giving me the titled message almost every time I visit bananas.org.. I am using Goggle Chrome to write this post, but, I prefer to use Internet Explorer.

Internet explorer has so many little quirks like this. That is why I use Google now. Speaking of Google, have you Googled this problem? Usually the fix is out there, somewhere.

No, they are targeted at Apple devices and pop up constantly!!! Everyone I know with an apple device sees them! I DO NOT believe it is bananas.org/site owners fault!!! I believe the more likely the site's server/virtual server has been hacked, etc causing the problem!! The "long script message" confirms this to me!!
Does this make sense to anyone else??

It may be happening sporadically to others, but, not at the same time, if my theory is correct. I suspect that specific advertisements are responsible and these ads are targeted at specific people according to their cookies and ISP location. As evidence, I bet nobody here but me sees the following ad:
 Although this particular ad. is not a culprit. Often, when the long running script message appears, there is a whirly icon (the thing that replaced the hour glass icon) inside the ad. box. |

BTW, the problem and the advertising went away after I installed Adblock Plus for Internet Explorer.
https://adblockplus.org/ If you use Chrome or Firefox, I recommend uBlock Origin because you can use it to eliminate annoying elements on webpages such as banners at the top. https://www.ublock.org/ |
