Default Key lime and banana pudding pie

1 and 1/2c sugar
1 and 1/2c boiling water
4Tb cornstarch
4Tb flower
4 egg yolks
Grated rind of 3 key limes no white part just the green
1/2c lime juice
2Tb butter
mix cornstarch flower and sugar add water and juice stirring constantly untill mixture boils do not scorch cook for 5 minits add butter and grated rind add temperd yoks on at a time beting constantly set aside

1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 cups scalded milk
3 large egg yolks, beaten
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Whipped cream mixture
5 medium size ripe bananas, peeled and thinly sliced
1/4 cup roasted macadamia nuts, coarsely ground
Sprig fresh mint
Mix sugar, flour and salt in a large heavy saucepan. Gradually stir in the scalded milk with a whisk. Cook the mixture over moderate heat while stirring constantly until slightly thickened. Slowly stir in approximately 1/4 cup the hot mixture into the beaten egg yolks. Next add the yolks to the balance of the hot mixture and cook, stirring constantly until the mixture is fully thickened to a custard-like consistency and coats a spoon. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla. Let cool completely and then fold in 1/2 cup of the whipped cream and sliced bananas
ok now that u have to two mixtures blind bake your favrit pie crust or ues a gram craker crust (my favrit) put the lime puding in shell filling hafe way then pour the banana pudding on top place in frig untill chilled and fully set sprinke nuts on top of pie to serv with wiped cream. this recipy makes 2 pies sorry its a big one but i cut it down from a recipy for 50 pies
im sure u all know how to blind bake if not msg me all exsplan ferther

Awesome recipe...but remember Key Limes are yellow;-)

Grated rind of 3 key limes no white part just the "green"...

PM me in the fall and I will mail you some limes:-)

Definitely no substitute for the tartness of a Key Lime...

BTW those are two Miracle Fruit on the Key West tile..it is an amazing experience to eat a Miracle Fruit then to eat some Key Limes!
