I have done several air layers but found that the plastic lets too much sun in.
That may not be a problem in colder climates but here in Florida the moss got way too hot. Therefore I have gone back to the aluminum foil. Some say the birds pick at it but so far that hasn't been a problem. Good diagram Richard!
