Default Alpinia caerulea cold hardiness?

I planted some Red back Ginger (Alpinia caerulea) and out of 50 seeds, I got like 40 sprouting so far! I got them to grow as a house plant because they tolerate shade well, does anyone know if you can grow them outdoors like a Canna, and leave them in the ground (zone 7), or do you have to lift them? I did not think germination would be so good.
