topshotta-your cane looks like CP72-1210.Its a Cana Point variety that was grown here in Fl. commercially in the 70's and 80's.Its a good chewing variety but does not come back from stubble well.

I know you are just waiting for the variegated one to get taller, it is doing well. Just a little longer. I hate to wait, too.

There is some numbered variety grown here for chewing and it's got a 2"+ barrel size.

heres a large barrel cane of "asian black" sugar cane I just harvested.
This makes a sweet juice with a darker tint and has a mild root beer flavor!


Caipirinha-fresh squeezed sugar cane juice with brazilian cachaca and key lime
