All else seems pretty healthy, leaves don't curl, just the tip discolored black. Name of bamboo is Phyllostachys aureosulcata "spectabilis".

For starts, great choice for a bamboo! Luv those springtime highlights & variable striping. What you have is most likely leaf burn. Water loss, in bamboos, tends to occur mostly at the tips of the leaves. I see it a lot in mid-summer on mine, but rarely in spring or fall. I'm certain that has mostly to do with humidity being much lower in the summer. For general health, it's not a serious problem since Spectabilis is a very vigorous bamboo & due to normal, periodic leaf-replacement.
This type of burn can be due to 3 causal factors that I know of. Too much water (creating internal water imbalance & leaf tip rot), too little water, or humidity levels being too low. Some mountain types hate humidity but most bamboos thrive in it.
If humidity levels are low in your area, you might try placing shallow vessels of water in the clumps. I tend to use vessels that blend with the ground. As the day heats up, the water will evaporate & add necessary humidity. I've used this method to keep an Australian tree fern going for several years now. Or, you can simply spray the leaves with a water mist daily.
A trick for balancing water intake is to run your finger about an inch into the soil. if the soil is dry, to that depth, then give the bamboo a deep watering (but Not soppy wet).
With exceptions to web-weaving worms & aphids (easily cured with Orange oil), bamboos have virtually no natural pests & are immune to all known plant diseases so water-balance is very likely the problem.

Thanks for the explanation. I think it's underwater & low humidity. The weather will be cooling down drastically next week in my area. That'll help for sure.
