Default Best sugar cane for rum

this is my first post but after searching the internet i learned there were some people on this forum with a good amount of cane experience. So my title kind of says it all. My family owns a distillery and I am interested in knowing what type of cane would make a good rum. I don't believe I will be able to grow enough to make a huge production run, but I would like to be able to do maybe one small run a year. We will also incorporate this into our tours, showing our customers where rum comes from. I recently purchased some Florida Red, is this a good cane for rum? Secondly is this a good cane to dehydrate and make a panela?
